Is your business exposed to data loss?

Data Loss

One of the key reasons we perform data backups is to guard against disaster.  This could be something as small as a failed server or disk drive, or a total disaster such as fire or flood.

In the event of a major disaster, the data from your backups would be restored from tapes or other portable devices, held off site.

With a standard tape solution, the data is stored on the physical tapes and then taken off site by a member of staff.  This could mean that your previous night’s backups remain on site for the entire next business day, or even the entire weekend.

In reality, this could mean that you are only able to recover to Thursday night’s backup if a disaster or failure was to happen over the weekend, preventing Friday’s backup from completing or being accessible.  A recovery point objective of over 72hrs and leaving your business at risk of unnecessary data loss during that time – how would this affect your business?

An online backup, recovery and restore solution overcomes this problem by:

  • Backups are transmitted across the internet to secure datacentres. This means when your backups have finished running, they are already off-site in a secure location. In the case of Taylor Made’s Online Backup, both datacentres are within 6 miles of our office in Fareham, giving you the extra peace of mind that your physical data is quickly and easily accessible if necessary..
  • There are no physical devices to remove or take off site, ensuring backups can run at the weekends.  This allows for any changes made over the weekend by remote workers to be successfully backed up and most importantly recovered, in the instance of a disaster during that time.
